Have you ever watched someone sabotage there own opportunities but we’re so sold on “waiting” or doing the things that never got them anywhere? They couldn’t see it and so stayed stuck…for years.
It is so very painful to watch, isn’t it? Everyone around them can see it but they refuse to acknowledge any other choices.
One of the main problems to BIG growth in life is the “addiction” to a certain primary way of thinking. This very thing could be the largest momentum killer in personal gains that I see, as a coach. So how do we get out of our own way?
What view/ideas are you holding onto that could potentially be holding you back? Do you even know what they are? Many people don’t because they have not asked someone else what they might see. So they question is; Are you willing to hear someone else’s thoughts on the matter?
Having a multitude of councilors is not just biblical but invaluable. I grew up in a house of seven very opinionated individuals and so was always hearing or seeing a variety of view points. Someone was always debating or arguing why their idea was better. This was surprisingly one of the more subtle but best things of my childhood home.
We could make sound(er) decisions after seeing or hearing from so many different people. My parents made it a point to listen, even if they told us afterwards that we were all wrong. Ha!
I was unaware of how wonderful this trait was until I was out of the house and seeing individuals who didn’t have this kind of sounding board in life.
People don’t have to agree. However, just hearing it out can really help keep the mind open and pride in check.
Proverbs 15: 22 Plans fail for lack of counsel,
but with many advisers they succeed.
Proverbs 11:14 For lack of guidance a nation falls,
but victory is won through many advisers.
Proverbs 24:6 Surely you need guidance to wage war,
and victory is won through many advisers.
Who are the people you are gonna ask to be your multitude this year? (Note: these are people that should challenge you and even question you , not undermine you and your potential.)

What negative thoughts are you “addicted “ to that you wish to drop?
