Salt and Saddle

The most beautiful life isn’t the busiest, the loudest, or the most impressive. It’s the one lived with intention, depth, and grace.

Welcome, we’re so glad you’re here. 🤍

If you’ve been with us for a while, you already know a little of what we’re about. But as we’ve been reimagining this space—and continue to do so as we close out 2026—we thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves.

At its heart, this is a lifestyle space for my daughter and me to explore, document, and write about the things that capture our attention and shape the way we see the world.

Think ballet and books, horses and the natural world, cooking and creating, home and hospitality, femininity and family, meaningful experiences, and the little details that make an ordinary day feel extraordinary.

We’re interested in the intersections of things. The unexpected connections. The beauty of learning something new, cultivating a thoughtful life, and remaining curious about the world around us.

We also believe deeply in the art of hosting and hospitality. In setting an extra place at the table, opening our doors, remembering the little things. There is something special about creating spaces where conversations linger, friendships grow, and people can simply come as they are.

After all, to have a friend, you must be a friend.- A quote from my great-aunt. Friendship requires showing up, extending the invitation, making room, and being willing to open your life to others. We don’t want to simply share ideas about a beautiful life from behind a screen. We want to invite you in, welcome you to the table, and hopefully become a little corner of the internet where friendship can begin.

We want to host you, encourage you, learn alongside you. Because the very best things in life are rarely meant to be experienced alone.

And while this space is personal, it is also a brand of sorts—not in the traditional sense of having something to sell, but in the sense of having a point of view, a creative vision, and a collection of ideas that belong together.

We believe there is value in the creative process itself: in gathering inspiration, asking questions, sharing discoveries, exchanging ideas, and considering how we might live with a little more intention, depth, beauty, and wonder.

This isn’t about presenting a perfectly curated life. It’s about exploring what makes life rich, meaningful, and interesting—and inviting you along for the process.

As this space continues to evolve, we hope it feels a little like stepping into a well-loved library, a country garden, an afternoon at the ballet, or a warmly lit home where there’s always room for one more at the table.

So, whether you’ve been here from the beginning or are just finding us, welcome.

Pull up a chair. Stay a while. Tell us what you’re learning, what you’re loving, and what makes your world beautiful.

We’re happy you’re here. There’s always room for another friend at our table. 🤍

Things that bring together several worlds that don’t always appear together in conventional lifestyle media:

  • The ballerina: discipline, artistry, femininity, posture, elegance, and lifelong devotion to beauty.
  • The romantic: books, poetry, horses, puppies, gardens, candlelight, handwritten notes, and the belief that ordinary moments deserve to be cherished.
  • The homemaker: cooking, organizing, creating peaceful spaces, welcoming people, and caring for the details that make a house a home.
  • The holistic: thoughtful reading, meaningful conversations, personal growth, and a curiosity about the world and growth in God.
  • The salt and saddle: the grounding presence of animal care, ocean adventures, real salt, and the beauty of a life lived beyond screens.
  • The devoted wife: a strong marriage, shared ambitions, mutual respect, and a husband and wife who build a meaningful life together.
  • The intentional teen: children who are capable, compassionate, grounded, responsible, and connected to God and the real world.
  • The experience curator: beautiful trips, cultural outings, traditions, meaningful celebrations, and experiences that become family stories.

The magic is in the combination.

Not one particular product. Not a course (although I have those). Not a perfectly curated life that someone is trying to sell you.

It’s the way we see the world.

It’s the unexpected connection between ballet and horses, a well-loved book and a beautifully set table, the science of the natural world and the wonder of childhood, the discipline of an accomplished life and the softness of an unhurried one.

It’s the art of bringing seemingly unrelated things together until they become something entirely their own.

And perhaps that is the most valuable thing we can offer: a way of thinking, seeing, creating, and living that inspires someone else to imagine more for their own life.

We are not selling a lifestyle. We are exploring one, out loud.

People don’t necessarily need another person telling them what to buy. They want to understand why something works, what makes it beautiful, how ideas connect, and how to bring more meaning into their own lives.

There is something wonderfully old-world about this approach. Think of the great naturalists, writers, artists, and hostesses who documented their worlds not because they had a product to launch, but because they had a point of view worth sharing.

The modern internet often asks, What can I sell you?

I am asking, What can we notice? What can we learn? What kind of life is worth cultivating?

And that brings me to the sentence I would put at the very heart of what we are doing here:

The Art of a Life Well Considered

A collection of thoughts, discoveries, traditions, and beautiful intersections between nature, art, family, and the everyday.

Not a product to purchase, but a perspective to discover.

This isn’t just a ballet blog, a homemaking blog, a teenagers space, a mother-daughter blog or even a fashion blog.

It’s about cultivating a life that is beautiful on the outside because it is meaningful on the inside!
