A new chapter in living beautifully, growing intentionally, and creating exceptionally.
Some things are worth cultivating slowly.
There is something special about the beginning of a new season. The familiar routines of everyday life begin to shift, the holidays draw a little closer, and we find ourselves thinking about the things we want to carry with us into the months ahead—and the things we are ready to leave behind.
For us, this season feels like an invitation to begin again.
Welcome to Heart and Heels, a new journal within Creating Exceptional—a space for those who want to live thoughtfully, cultivate beauty in the everyday, nurture meaningful relationships, and continue becoming what they were created to be.
A fresh look, with a deeper purpose
As Creating Exceptional continues to evolve, we wanted its design to better reflect the heart behind it.
The refreshed aesthetic draws inspiration from the things we love: the timeless elegance of ballet, the warmth of a well-loved home, the charm of old-world details, the quiet beauty of nature, and the collected feeling of a journal filled with ideas, stories, and discoveries.
Think warm neutrals, thoughtful details, literary inspiration, feminine touches, and a little romance—without losing the practicality that makes an idea useful in real life.
We want this space to feel like stepping into a favorite reading room: somewhere to pause, explore, discover something new, and leave with an idea worth carrying into your own life.
The design is changing, but the heart remains the same.
What you’ll find here
Heart and Heels will be organized around the areas of life we believe are worth tending. Rather than simply collecting inspiration, we want to help you put it into practice.
The Art of Grace
Reflections on femininity, ballet, personal development, faith, and the lifelong process of becoming. We’ll explore what grace looks like beyond appearances—in our words, habits, relationships, choices, and the way we respond to the world around us.
Home & Hospitality
Ideas for creating a home that feels welcoming, organized, personal, and alive. From seasonal decorating and thoughtful organization to recipes, tablescapes, hosting, and the simple art of making room for others, this is a place to celebrate home as the foundation for connection.
Our philosophy is simple: to have a friend, you must be a friend. We want to encourage a culture of invitation, generosity, and genuine hospitality—less pressure to impress, more willingness to open the door.
Marriage & Meaningful Relationships
Conversations about building a strong marriage, nurturing friendships, raising children with intention, and investing in the people entrusted to us. These relationships are not meant to run on autopilot. They grow through attention, communication, forgiveness, shared experiences, and everyday acts of love.
The Well-Cultivated Life
Practical inspiration for wellness, routines, personal growth, reading, creativity, and creating a life with a little more balance and a lot more purpose. We will share ideas to try, lessons we are learning, and ways to pursue growth without turning every part of life into another performance.
Experiences Worth Remembering
Seasonal traditions, travel, nature, culture, beautiful places, and the little adventures that make life feel rich. We want to make room for curiosity and delight—to experience the world more fully, rather than simply rushing through it.
And because an exceptional life is never finished, there will always be room for new ideas, unexpected discoveries, and subjects that inspire us to learn something more.
More than inspiration
There is no shortage of beautiful images and good advice in the world. What we hope to offer is something a little more lasting.
We want you to leave this space with something you can use: an idea for making your home more welcoming, a question worth discussing with your husband, a book to add to your list, a new practice to try, a reason to invite a friend over, or a reminder to slow down and notice the goodness already present in your life.
Some posts will be practical and instructional. Others will be reflective, personal, or simply delightful. We hope to share what we are learning honestly, without pretending to have every answer or every corner of life perfectly arranged.
Our hope is that the Heart and Heels section becomes a place you return to not because you feel you need to do more, but because you feel inspired to live more intentionally.
More present. More connected. More curious. More generous. More yourself.
A mother-daughter vision
Creating Exceptional has always been about the idea that a meaningful life is something we create, together and over time.
As this brand grows, we are also making room for two generations, two perspectives, and different ways of discovering what makes life wonderful.
Heart and Heels is my corner of that vision—a place for the reflections, practices, and experiences that shape a woman’s life. Alongside it, my daughter’s journal, Salt & Saddle, will explore her own world of horses, ocean life, animals, conservation, and outdoor adventure.
The subjects may differ, but the foundation is shared: curiosity, care, faith, growth, and a desire to live with intention.
We hope this becomes a place where readers of different ages can find something that speaks to them, discover new interests, and feel encouraged to cultivate a life that reflects their own values and gifts.
A soft launch for the holiday season
We are beginning gently, allowing this refreshed space to take shape as we move through the final months of 2026.
The holiday season feels like a fitting time to begin. It invites us to think about home, generosity, traditions, relationships, celebration, and the meaning behind the things we do year after year.
Over the coming months, we will be sharing new articles, seasonal inspiration, thoughtful ideas for home and hospitality, and reflections to help you enter the holidays with greater intention.
This is a soft launch, which means there is more to come. We are introducing the new design and direction now, with room to keep refining, creating, and building as we go. We hope you will join us at the beginning, explore what is here, and grow with us as this next chapter unfolds.
You do not need to wait for January to begin cultivating the life you want. You can start with one small choice today: a thoughtful conversation, a book opened, a table set, a walk taken, a friend invited, a prayer whispered, or a moment of gratitude before the day moves on.
The new year will come soon enough. For now, there is a beautiful season right in front of us.
Let’s make room for it.
A journal from Creating Exceptional
The last few years have held some of the deepest challenges, stretching seasons, and unexpected changes of my life. They have been years of learning, letting go, rebuilding, and coming to terms with the reality that not everything we begin is meant to remain exactly as it was.
Sometimes growth looks like adding something new. Other times, it looks like shedding what no longer works. Sometimes it is a sling shot kinda thing where you are stretched backwards and in extreme positions in order to throw yourself into the speed of growth and you can hardly hold on as you do.
Shedding, old expectations and overextended commitments. Ways of doing things that no longer fit the season we are in. Even ideas we once loved can need a little room to breathe, change, and become something different.
This process has not always been easy, but it has been clarifying. It has reminded me that we cannot cultivate everything at once, that some things need to be pruned before new growth can take place, and that there is wisdom in being willing to begin again.
I have found myself returning to the things that have always mattered most: faith, family, meaningful relationships, a welcoming home, personal growth, creativity, and the beauty tucked into ordinary days. I want to be more intentional about how I spend my time, what I create, the people I invest in, and the kind of life we are building together.
That is part of the heart behind this new chapter of Creating Exceptional.
The refreshed design is more than a visual change. It represents a desire to bring greater clarity to the vision, make room for new ideas, and create a space that feels more aligned with the life and values we want to share. It is an opportunity to keep what is meaningful, release what is no longer serving us, and move forward with renewed purpose.
I am not stepping into this next season with every detail figured out. I am stepping into it with a clearer sense of what I want to cultivate—and a greater appreciation for the grace it takes to do so.
Perhaps you find yourself in a similar season. Maybe you are rebuilding, reimagining, or simply realizing that the way you have always done things no longer feels right. If so, I hope you will find encouragement here.
You do not have to wait until everything is settled to begin again. You can start right where you are, with what you have, one thoughtful choice at a time.
There is beauty in the becoming. There is purpose in the pruning. And there is always room to create something meaningful from the season you are in.
This is not about becoming someone entirely different. It is about making room for what matters most—and having the courage to grow into it.
A new chapter is unfolding. ✨
Heart & Heels
As coined by my husband.
A little fire, a little finesse, and a woman who was never meant to be just one thing.
Heart & Heels is his way of describing me—the warmth in my heart, the fire in my spirit, and the femininity I carry into the world. A woman who loves deeply, dances through life in her own rhythm, and believes there is something beautiful about balancing strength with softness, elegance with a little edge, and grace with just enough spark.
Because a woman can be tender and tenacious, romantic and resilient, polished yet wonderfully untamed.
And sometimes, the people who love us best find the words that capture us most beautifully.
Heat & Heels. His name for my fire and my femininity—and a little reminder that the best women are never just one thing.
We’re so glad you’re here.
A little heart. A lot of Heels. An abundance of grace.
And always, a little dancing along the way.
Dancingly,
— Kate
