“Come on my soul, don’t you get shy on me… there is a lion inside of these lungs.” Those words have been echoing in my spirit lately—especially in a season where life feels anything but loud with praise. Because if I’m honest, this has been hard. Losing jobs, or people, or sustaining injuries of the [...]

The Unhurried Life
Hurrying has its place. I thought it meant efficiency. And the more I hurry the more I can do in this short period of time we all get on this blue planet. In true emergencies, speed matters. We rush toward safety. We act quickly to protect, to help, to respond. Urgency is appropriate when something [...]
ZEAL: The Quiet Fire That Changes Everything
Every personality test I’ve ever taken puts the word zeal somewhere near the top for me. Wholehearted. Driven. Purpose-centered. It’s almost funny how consistent it is—this theme of having a big, bright internal fire. I am passionate. But here’s the truth no test captures: Even the most zealous person gets tired. Especially in December. Between [...]

When to Leave, when you’ve been taught to STAY
In a "cancel society" it is easy to shut people, organizations, and differing ideas out in the name of "our health". Giving people an "out" on thinking differently, pushing through hard, loving our spouses over divorcing, and choosing church over our couches. So I want to be very clear when tackling this topic. Claiming Words
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29 Words matter. Speaking them, writing them, and putting them to use in sentence structure creates a story. It gives power. Power to the narrative and to [...]
Belonging
I do not know when the relentlessness of life’s most hurtful things will make sense but I do know that with Jesus I find my belonging. I do not have to negotiate, or prove my worth. I find friendships potential and the utter acceptance of me. I find a friend that will not drop me, that is loyal for life! He tells me Everyday that His vision for me is still so great and that His dreams of what we can do as a team is still building! I do not know if you have moved away from your tribe, been told you no longer serve a vision in a persons life, or have lost someone though death or sickness. I hope you know you belong. That you are important and that you matter. Valued. You belong to Him and He will never give up on you. Just an FYI, I never will either! In all the transitions and transformations of life, I’m here.
